The Team Level Membership - You and 5 of your colleagues for $89 per month.

THE HUB FOR ALL DISTRIBUTED SECURITY, INC TRAINING RESOURCES is our online Defense Academy. Inside you will find content, instructional courses, lectures, training plans, and other resources designed to help you achieve your training objectives.

The TEAM membership for the Defense Academy is designed for CEO's, managers and employees who face a common security challenge - in the event of a violent confrontation, how do you defend your employees, assets, and property until the arrival of law enforcement? Our Team membership is intended to provide the content, instruction, plans, and resources for small teams to learn how to defend life and property.

Our Team Level training expands the area of operation from an individual in their home or on the street, to a team working to secure a physical location such as a business, church, or school. We build our team plans around 6-member cadres and utilize our 12-month Advance training plan to train them to SWAT level competencies*. Training of the individuals to work as a team is only part of the process. Because they are working to secure a physical location, it is necessary to add to the plan, various analytical and organizational steps. The Team Plan details the following steps necessary to secure building and property including:

  • Conducting a security analysis.
  • Forming your security cadre.
  • Provisioning the team.
  • Operational planning.
  • Training the cadre.
  • Validating your training.
  • Mobilizing the team.

DSI has been at the forefront of creating programs and strategies that train individuals in organizations to defend their life and property. Our Team membership to the online defense academy is designed to provide the content, instruction, plans and resources for small teams to learn how to defend life and property. The cost for a Team membership to the online defense academy is $89 per month for a team of 6 individuals.

Teams get their own online Private Training Group (PTG).

Consider the Private Training Group as your virtual ready room where you store your important information - photos, videos, files, announcements related to the organization, training and operation of your security team.

Each Team gets a customized interactive training plan and supervising instructor.

Anchored by participation in DSI's on-range training courses, this plan defines pre-requisites for each progressively more challenging level of training, and specifies the readings, videos, and practice drills that must be addressed before course attendance at each level. The plan is not overly prescriptive - there remains considerable flexibility for the student to control his own pace and adapt the program to his individual schedule and circumstances, while still focusing on the end goal of proficiency in two weapon systems and in the tactics and cognitive knowledge that will allow the sober, lawful, and deliberate application of those skills as an individual, and as a member of a team or larger articulated unit in defense of home, business, church, school or community against evolving threats.

Team PLAN Graphic

In broad outline, this program ensures competency in the combative use of handgun and rifle; in the principles of individual tactics that will make you hard to kill and allow you to apply those skills successfully in a fight for your life; and in the cognitive infrastructure of intelligence, communications, planning, collective training, and organization that will provide you the enormous leverage of working with like-minded and similarly trained people to secure your business, school, church,or community in that critical gap between the sudden appearance of a violent threat and the decisive intervention of law enforcement - a gap that is steadily widening in much of America as the social contract frays and resources contract.

Click on the Team membership option to get started. The Team membership is $89 a month for six team members. Of course you can cancel at anytime.

*When you have successfully completed all of the requirements of the Advanced Plan then you gain the "Advanced" patch certifying that you have demonstrated the baseline skills of police SWAT/SRT operators*, which we define as proficiency with handgun and rifle, and the ability to move and fight effectively as an individual or in a small team. The specialty skills of sniper, breacher, negotiator, or tactical driver are less applicable to private citizens in defense of home, business, church, school, and community, and we do not teach them. DSI training will help you develop shooting and gun handling skills comparable to the best police and military operators, which will enable you to consistently achieve hits on target, at realistic ranges, under stress, in low light, faster than your adversary. Your judgment and decision making skills will ensure that you use force legally and appropriately, without endangering the innocent. Your mastery of individual tactics will let you avoid a fight where possible, and fight from a position of advantage where you must. You will be able to work safely and effectively in a team with other similarly trained operators in any urban or suburban environment. Your tactical medicine skills will enable you to save lives when seconds count and EMS is minutes away. Your tactical communications skills and means will allow you coordinate within and across teams. Your DSI training is an integrated package that will reward you with top-level skills in all these areas for a commitment of approximately 150 hours of on-range work, and the equivalent in guided study and practice.

The Schmitts - A Study Of One Family's Struggle To Defend Life, Business, Church, School and Community

The case study is a composite construction of actual events and relationships experienced by the authors. Names and locations have been changed, and the resulting study, while the work of fiction, is representable of the realities facing many individuals, businesses and communities today. The setting for the case study is Detroit, a city that is a precursor for the conflicts to come. The case study includes:

  • The story of Auto Parts Distributors (APD), including it's founding, owners, employees and history.
  • A security briefing which describes the threats that confront APD.
  • A site survey detailing the physical premises.
  • Mission Essential Task List (METL) for the defense of APD.
  • Wargaming a gang assault on APD.
  • After Action Report (AAR) of an actual assault.

PRIVATE DEFENSE NETWORKS

PDN Graphic PDBTTC Homepage

DSI is the creator of private defense networks, a distributed security strategy enabling businesses to develop private defense bases and operate private security forces capable of defending life and property.

We offer enterprises a turnkey package of services for business including infrastructure, training, provisioning and outsourcing.

What is a private defense network (PDN)?

Private defense networks are various combinations of businesses, schools, churches and communities who collaborate to defend against violent threats.

A private defense network encompasses a territory composed of private defense bases (PDB) supported by a central tactical training center (TTC).

Business enterprises anchor PDN’s by developing on-premise private defense bases and establishing, training, and, maintaining private security forces capable of defending the immediate community from violent threat.

Communities are facing a dizzying array of escalating threats including lone gunmen, violent mobs, organized criminals, common criminals and jihadist terrorist groups a.k.a. “decentralized” threats. These threats can’t be stopped by a centralized (government) response. If we want to mitigate these types of attacks then we need a distributed security strategy that enables trained citizens to be on the scene when the threat manifests.

Why are we focusing on businesses defending the local community? What about law enforcement, the National Guard, Homeland Security, the FBI or the DOJ? All major recipients of tax dollars ostensibly for the defense of civilian life and property within the US. Do civilians need to take a proactive role in defending life and property?

The reason we focus on the role of business is because we are on the brink of an inevitable conflict that will weaken, perhaps destroy the rule of law and civil conduct. The government institutions that we have come to depend upon for security and civility will not provide the level of security and civility that we depended upon in the past.

Why do business enterprises anchor the PDN?

Weapons, ammunition and training cost money. One of the greatest challenges facing those who are responsible for the defense of a country or the security of a population is funding the effort.

Businesses are uniquely suited because of the activities they conduct, and their economic role within the community. Businesses recruit, train and manage their own private security force including building and maintaining their own training facilities. They also form the hub or “security base” of a local community PDN integrating local churches, schools and other businesses into one network.

Most importantly, businesses have the means and the competencies necessary to operate a private defense base (PDB) as a profit center.

Businesses generally function within a local geography; street, block, neighborhood, village etc. Local customers, local employees and in some cases local vendors with shared identities. Most private enterprises have a strong identity of interest between owners, managers and employees to defend their community, setting up the opportunity to create a simpatico environment.

Is this for my enterprise?

The best business candidates for developing a private defense base exhibit the following characteristics:

1. Are located in a community vulnerable to attack.
2. Have at least 100 employees in a single location.
3. Are privately-owned with support from employees and managment.
4. Currently outsourcing security requirements.
5. Have the support of local law enforcement.

If you would like to learn more about private defense networks then please request a briefing.

The briefings are done principal to principal, we do not use a sales staff, so we ask that your most senior staff participate. The briefings take about 2 hours with questions and are done via GoToMeeting. All participants need to a be at a desktop or laptop computer to participate.
